WELCOME to DJDEL.com v2!
Hey Y'all,
Please to enjoy my latest mix in the style of New York's new dance music station, 87.7 The Pulse.

I started spinning in 1974. My first real spin was 2 mixes at Studio 54 in 1975! I went to U of Miami in 78 where I worked The Rathskellars Wednesday Disco Night and clubs like Visions, Menage, Faces in the Grove (with my buddy DJ legend Scotty Blackwell), Applause, Manhattan to name a few. Back to NYC in 85 where I guested at Private Eyes & 4Ds and a couple of nights at Palladium. I "hung up the headphones" in 89 and got a day job, but in the spring of 2003, the bug bit me again and I got" pulled back in". I spin pretty much all genres, but my deepest history is in the Classic disco and house.
I hope everyone enjoys my programming and feel free to drop me a line.

Biography

DJ Del DeLeon started DJing in 1975.  Born and raised in the South Bronx, NYC, his passion for music and spinning landed him his first club residency at the age of 15.

In 1978, he moved to South Miami where while attending classes at the University of Miami, quickly landed the weekly Wednesday night dance party at the school's Rathskellar.  He landed his next job in 1979 at a mid-sized venue named Visions of Kendall, where he auditioned for and later became good friends with DJ legend Scotty Blackwell.

He and Scotty worked together at Visions and later at Faces in Coconut Grove for nearly 3 years.  Under the stage name of “DJ Butch”, he was rated top 20 out of 100 DJs on the South Eastern Disco Association’s roster,. Miami’s most noted record pool of that time.  During his tenure in Miami (1978-1985) Del also has residences at Club Ménage, Applause, the Lounge at the Fountainbleu Hilton and the Club at Carillon’s.  He also programmed guest spots for the Saturday Night Dance Party on radio station Super Q with popular host DJ Leo.

Moving back to New York City in 1986, Del had some guest spots with Scott Blackwell at Private Eyes and various other venues when he decided to take a “day job” and join the corporate world.  Retired for DJing for nearly 12 years, Del was asked in early 2003 to DJ a party for a friend at a lounge in Ft. Lee, NJ named Latitude and the bug bit him again. After a 18 month residency at Latitude, DJ DEL has continued to move dance floors at such venus as G2 (Meat Pack Dist.), LUV 247 (SoHo), Duvet (Chelsea) and other NY night spots.

Musically, Del’s style runs the gamut from R&B to classics to mainstream remixes to trance to Latin salsa to tribal house.  His philosophy is to feel the crowd, feed off their energy, use his extensive experience & collection to play an eclectic selection of international music taking the people on a worldwide dance trip.  His energetic style, smooth mixing abilities, musical diversity and professional business approach to his work has separated him from the average DJ.
